I wrote this on facebook to my friends, but wanted to share it with you. It’s from the heart.
Hello friends, I’m writing this to let you all know about my blog and why I write it. Some people think it’s a waste of time, pointless, worthless and maybe even after reading this they will still think that, but i just want to let you know what my blog is all about.
I started writing my blog to keep my family and friends who are far away up-to-date on what is going on. Then in February I came across some very kind people who gave me their products as a gift. I wanted to share with others about them and their kindness and awesome products. I came to find out that there are a lot of “mommy bloggers” out there that do the same thing and would be partnered with the company they wrote about to do a giveaway. I started entering their giveaways and I started winning and I started blogging about the things I won. I mainly won products for my kids, so it was pretty cool to see what they thought too.
So after writing many reviews about products I loved I was contacted by a company to do a review and giveaway with them. From there I contacted a few companies on my own do work with me and things just bloomed.
Now what is the point of all this? Well first off wouldn’t you say it’s nice to get “free” products? I put quotes around “free” because, yes I get them without paying but it does take a lot of work; testing the product, writing a review with link-backs to the company and monitoring the giveaways. So for my work I think it’s fair to get a “free” product to review. (I want to add that I do write reviews on somethings I buy too, if I love it i want to share it with everyone).
Second, I love trying out new products/company and sharing what I think with my readers. There is so much out there I never heard of before writing my blog and it’s cool to share with others. Now, not all products I have received I liked, and I do share my honest opinion about them.
Third and most important, I get a joy out of writing my blog. I get an energy with each word. Writing is a challenge for me and to actually write something that others (mainly people I’ve never met) are reading is exciting. It’s been challenging my mind and helping with my dyslexia.
So there you have it. I write a blog. Love doing it. I don’t feel it’s a waste of time.
