This post will bring you 2 of my favorite book reviews I’ve done. Both are books with a series and both are teen books. I like these books because they were a fun, easy read for me and I can’t wait for the next books to come out.

The Secret of Indigo Moon- Book Review- June 29th

I recently read the book “The Dopple Ganger Chronicles- The Secret of Indigo Moon” book #2 by G.P. Taylor. I couldn’t put this book down, I had it read in one day. The book is about three teenage kids who find a letter by their former headmistress and see two men stealing stuff in the hidden tunnels at their school. They take you on their adventures searching for the truth. There are twin girls named Saskia & Sadie and a boy named Erik, they were abandoned and left at the school for the headmistress to look after them.

This book is written as a Graphic Novel, some written pages and some pages look & read like a comic book. Although I have never read the first book in the series I wasn’t lost and couldn’t put it down. i wanted to know what was happening next and if the kids were ok. The book and the illustrations awesome awesome. Now that I am done with the second book i want to go out and find the first book and I CAN’T wait for the third book to come out.

I would recommend this book to mainly teenagers but as an adult I still enjoyed it. The book is published by Tyndale House Publishing. Although the book doesn’t directly talk about God it does have “The Companion” that one of the twins talks to to seek help and answers in life.

“The Search for WondLa” book review- Nov 2nd

The Search for WondLa” by Tony DiTerlizzi
Synopsis:
“When a marauder destroys the underground sanctuary that Eva Nine was raised in by the robot Muthr, the twelve-year-year-old girl is forced to flee aboveground. Eva Nine is searching for anyone else like her, for she knows that other humans exist, because of an item she treasures—a scrap of cardboard on which is depicted a young girl, an adult, and a robot, with the strange word, “WondLa.” Tony DiTerlizzi honors traditional children’s literature in this totally original space age adventure: one that is as complex as an alien planet, but as simple as a child’s wish for a place to belong. “

My Thoughts:
WOW, I don’t even know where to begin. This book was AMAZING and I’m glad to hear it might be made into a movie. The author is so detailed in this “new” world you feel like you’re part of it. Although this is considered a teen fiction I think everyone will love it.
The book has so many emotions, you’ll feel intense as Eva Nine and her friends try to escape Besteel. You will get sad when something happens to Muthr. You’ll feel joy & love many times through out the book while Eva Nine meets some new friends and they help each other in more ways then one. And at the end of the book you’ll have an “AH HA” moment when you will see a parallel between this book and another.
Sorry I’m being so veg on the book. It truly is an amazing book and I don’t want to give too much away. This is one book your won’t be disappointed in. I’m happy to know that their will be more books for us to join in and follow Eva Nine and her friends with.

I also want to note a cool feature with this book and with the online website. With the book, internet connection and a webcam you can get “WondLa Vision” also known as “Augmented Reality”. There are keys in the book that you point to the webcam and you are taken on a interactive trip through a map of planet “Orbona”. It took me a bit to figure out how to get it to work but once I did, it made the book come even more to life.
