Welcome to Thursday Blog-Hop.
PLEASE CHECK AT THE BOTTOM FOR MORE HOPS!
While you’re here please check out my current giveaways–
1. Please follow the hosting blog- bassgiraffe’s Thoughts and the STAR blog in spot #2. (PLEASE follow this rule, I have been a featured blog of other hops and never get any new followers, really sucks when people don’t follow the rules)
2. Please visit as many blogs as possible.
3. If someone visits your blog please visit theirs back, but I know that we don’t like all blogs we visit so don’t feel obligated to follow back if you don’t want.
4. Family friendly blogs only, please.
5. You will need to link to your blog post that has the above blog-hop button. Without a post it makes it harder for people to have a proper place to comment and let you know they stopped by. You will NOT be chosen as “Star Blog” if I can’t find the button on your blog!
I will be featuring one blog from the week before who made a post containing the blog hop button. This is a random draw from here on out. Each week’s STAR spot will be chosen via random.org. If the blog chosen does not have a post containing the hop button I will redraw a name. I hope that made sense. (PLEASE– in order to be the “Star Blog” you HAVE to have the button on your blog post/or sidebar, and please make it easy for me to find).
This week’s STAR spot is From Creative Southern Home. Please follow their blog.
Read more below to learn more about the star blog.
1- How long have you been blogging?
I started blogging in Feb 2010.
2- What got you started on blogging?
My husband had been working at a new job in another state and I was left to sell the house and keep the kids in school. We had been in this situation for 4 months and still no luck selling the house. One lonely night I stumbled upon the blog JOYS OF HOME. It had so many wonderful decorating ideas for my home that it inspired my to re-accessorize and maybe help sell our house. Right after I did so we had multiple offers, and finally accepted one that was good for us. I started my blog to help me keep track of projects I had done and help me through those lonely days. Now we are all back together again and I have more time to blog as all of my kids are in school this year. It helps me reach out to others and to get back in touch with my creative side.
3-what is the main focus of your blog?
I have so many interests that I blog about that I sometimes wonder what my focus is! However, I really feel like my focus is to share fun and easy ways to make your house a home. That entails decorating projects, recipes, kids activities, bargain shopping etc. I love staying home with my kids and I love making our house a home. Sometimes are easier than others. I feel like my roll as a mother is to keep the family grounded and connected and providing an environment where everyone in our family can thrive. I want my blog to be an inspiration for me to help create a wonderful home and along the way if I help inspire someone else then that is just the icing on the cake.
4- Is there anything else you’d like to share with my readers?
Take time to create. It doesn’t matter what it is, just create. It will provide an incredible sense of satisfaction. Also, take time with your family. Make dinner time together a top priority. I have to say this has been one of our family’s great success’s. It helps everyone relax together at the end of a long day and helps us stay connected. I can tell a difference in the tone of our family if we have not been able to have regular family dinner together. So love you family, laugh with them, take Sunday walks together. It will be some of the best times of your life.
