“With over 120 titles focusing on fascinating topics just right for kids ages 8-12 — including space exploration, inventions, vikings, weather and the American Revolution (just to name a few!), DK Publishing’s legendary Eyewitness Series has grown to become the most trusted nonfiction series written for kids. The Eyewitness Series has sold over 20 million copies and has been a staple on library, classroom and home bookshelves for over 30 years. This summer DK is unveiling its newest generation of titles that boost the fun factor and enhance the learning experience for even for the most reluctant of readers. In keeping with focusing on subjects that complement student’s interests and their areas of study, Eyewitness’ newest generation of enhanced titles features new multi-media components like clip art CD’s, an interactive Eyewitness website and full-color wall charts.”
The Eyewitness Series is totally awesome. They high quality in that the paper is thicker then most books and it has vibrant color pages. I also love how much use you will get out of them. I got to review just two of the MANY books in this series and I hope to get more for our collection.
Each book has a pull-out poster and clip art CD. If your child has a paper they need to write there is everything you need for each subject.
The “Flight” book take you through the history of man trying to take flight. You learn about all the different ways man has flown and the makings of airplanes and inventors. lee looked looking at it and asking lots of questions. And even though these books are meant for older kids, she still had fun reading through this one with me.
The “Predator” book talks about everything from bugs that eat other bugs & animals to large animals and how they hunt. This book I didn’t let Lee look at, as at her age I think she might be scared by some of the photos. They show a lot of animals attacking animals and she’s only 5. But someday I know she’ll learn tons from this book.
I HIGHLY recommend you to look into these books. I think they are better then encyclopedias or searching on the internet for research papers and education. This series would be perfect for homeschooling families too.
