THE HELP movie review

posted in book-Movie, Disney, review on by

“Based on one of the most talked about books in years and a #1 New York Times best-selling phenomenon, “The Help” stars Emma Stone (“Easy A”) as Skeeter, Academy Award®–nominated Viola Davis (“Doubt”) as Aibileen and Octavia Spencer as Minny—three very different, extraordinary women in Mississippi during the 1960s, who build an unlikely friendship around a secret writing project that breaks societal rules and puts them all at risk. From their improbable alliance a remarkable sisterhood emerges, instilling all of them with the courage to transcend the lines that define them, and the realization that sometimes those lines are made to be crossed—even if it means bringing everyone in town face-to-face with the changing times.”

My Thoughts-
I am going to start off by saying that this is THE best movie I have seen all year. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it. I mean usually when I love the previews for a movie, the movie is a total bomb. The previews usually have all the best scenes in them and the rest of the movie stinks. I can safely say I loved the previews for “The HELP” but those weren’t all the best scenes, the movie had way more. In fact I can’t find a fault to this movie. I even want to go pick up a copy of the book now and read it.
There were some sad parts and intense parts but this movie was the most funniest movie I think I’ve ever seen. Lets put it this way… When you go to the theatre to watch a comedy most people laugh and then there’s that one really loud laughing person, right? Well at this movie all 150+ people were laughing so loud that we all were “that one loud person”. You just couldn’t help it but laugh loudly.
As I was walking out of the movie theatre all I could hear was praises from everyone and some people still laughing. My husband and I kept laughing in the car and talking about all the great things in The HELP.
I don’t want to give anything away but I will say, I will never look at chocolate pie the same way again. If you want to know what I’m talking about I highly encourage you to go watch this movie. I’d love for you to come back here and tell me what you thought after seeing it.
