“In Hook, Line & Sinker’ by Susan May Warren
“In Hook, Line & Sinker, the annual Deep Haven fishing contest draws professional and amateur anglers from across the country, but this year, Ross Springer is determined to win the top cash prize. In fact, he has no choice. It’s his last chance to leave a lasting legacy at Bethel College. He just never imagined his fundraising scheme would hook Abigail Cushman, the grad student who reminds him of all they’d had—and lost—every time she glances his way.
Abigail Cushman may not know the difference between a bass and a trout, but how hard can it be to catch a fish? She’s a quick learner, and she’s certain her smarts can net her a win over Ross Springer, the handsome charmer she’s tried to forget since grief tore them apart.
In the ultimate showdown between brains and heart, will Ross and Abby reel in more than they bargained for?”
If you’re looking for a fun, quick read, CLEAN, Christian romance book, then this is the book for you. I had tons of fun reading “In Hook, Line & Sinker”. Some may say the story is way out there and isn’t believable but I can tell you this book brought back a TON of memories of when I attended Moody.
The whole story is based after two people. A boy & a girl. The girl dated his brother but in reality loved him. He believes that all along she was in love with his brother and that she could never love him. She doesn’t want to betray the memory of his late brother and doesn’t want to share her true feelings. There is tension between them the whole book. I knew some people like this. In fact I had was in the middle of it all and finally told one party that the other party liked them. Those two are married now and have 3 kids. LOL
There is also the dynamic of different school groups and who was more “spiritual” then the other verses who was more “fun”. That was sooo MBI. In the end they realize you can have a fun group AND fulfill God’s will.
I can’t wait to read more books from this series, as I really fell in love with the characters and I love how the author wrote it.
