“Kathryn the Grape’s Colorful Adventure” book review & giveaway
ABOUT-
“Kathryn the Grape’s Colorful Adventure” by Kathryn Cloward and Ginny Hornby
“BLING! You are colorful! Join Kathryn the Grape and her magical butterfly friend Maggie, on an imaginative colorful adventure as Kathryn the Grape discovers how to make her colorful rainbow shine. With help from Maggie and a special charm bracelet, readers learn beautiful life lessons while discovering how to shine their colorful light into the world. “
My Thoughts-
I LOVE Kathryn the Grape books. The first one was so positive and empowering for young girls and I couldn’t wait to read the next book called, Colorful Adventure. In this book Kathryn the Grape feels unimportant and her magic fairy, Maggie, comes and helps her out. Maggie gives her a charm bracelet with different color charms. With each charm, Kathryn the Grape learns more about who she is and what makes her special. For instance the color yellow means “trust”, Maggie asks her who she trusts. Kathryn the Grape lists a bunch of people but Maggie tells her the most important person to trust is herself.
We loved this book. With each color Lee would talk about what she felt and even now she’ll mention things like the color orange or the color purple and then talk about what makes her special.
We would totally recommend Kathryn the Grape books to every family, especially ones with girls. It’s fun, colorful, educational and empowering.

The inspiration for the stories came from Kathryn Cloward’s mother who envisioned writing a children’s story about “Kathryn the Grape”, the nickname given to Kathryn by her softball coach Mr. P due to her love for purple.
