Weight Loss Myths #3

posted in health on by

First a reminder that I’m not an expert, I’m just speaking from my experience and success. I’ve been able to loose weight and keep it off in the past 10 years. I’ve had the privilege of reviewing and working with many experts to help me on my way. What I post are something I learned and that worked for me.

MYTH #3- If I drink juice it can count as my daily water amount.

I’ve had so many people tell me that they get their minimum of 8- 8oz glasses of water day by drinking fruit juices, pop, ect…
70% of an adult body is made up with water. You NEED WATER to fuel your body and keep healthy. Other drinks can dehydrate you and they don’t give you the water you need. (“Soft drinks, coffee, and tea, while made up almost entirely of water, also contain caffeine. Caffeine can act as a mild diuretic.”~ http://www.allaboutwater.org/water-facts.html)
It’s IMPORTANT you drink plenty of water in your day. If I workout harder then usual I usually add more water to my day. If I eat a higher salty meal I add more water to my day.
The benefits of straight water are-
-it is calorie free and filling
-it will help hydrate your skin and give you a better complexion
-when you’re hydrated you have more energy
-drinking water helps you not retain water
-Drinking water helps flush your system, helping you loose weight.
– I suffer from migraines but when I get enough water they are reduced.

I also learned from being on RevAbs that you need more then the normal 8-8oz glasses of water to stay healthy. It’s all about your weight and activity level. For example I weigh around 177lbs and I need over 70 oz of water a day to stay properly hydrated and healthy.

I hope this post has helped you. Thank you for sticking with me. My next post will focus on fitness.
