My Thoughts-
It took me 2.5 days to read “The Discovery” by Dan Walsh. I’m a very slow reader but this book had me wanting to keep on turning the pages. It gets your heart pumping, you will cry and you will smile.
Michael Warner’s grandfather has past away. He was a very famous author and left a lot of money to everyone in his family. His grandfather, Gerard Warner, left Michael is very large, beautiful house. Michael and his wife, Jenn just can’t believe they are finally living their dream. Michael is now free to write and Jenn can do what she want.
Jenn has to leave for their old home to finish off her last two weeks of work. While Michael is on his own he discovers an old, unpublished story written by his Gramps. It’s about a young man named, Ben. Ben escaped the Natiz by pretending to be willing to go to America and bomb certain places. However, Ben really wanted to go back to his homeland. Once Ben is in America he see this women, Claire and instantly falls in love. The problem is he has to lie to her. If he told her the truth not only would he be in danger of being caught but she and her family would be in trouble. With a series of events 6 months later he has to tell Clarie the truth, the same day she thought her was going to propose to her.
This story Michale’s Gramps wrote is not ordinary story. You’ll figure it out sooner then Michael does, but it’s still really cool to read about and hope for the best. You’re also hoping Michael will figure this secret out too. (Sorry to be so veg, I don’t want to give anything away, it’s better to read it without knowing what’s going to happen)
Although I wish I could have kept reading more about Michael and Jenn and the rest of their family, I was left satisfied with the ending and where it left off.
I would highly recommend this book to ALL. For ages 16+, men and women. Christian and non-Christian book readers. it’s that good of a book. So far it’s my favorite I’ve read this year and I’ve read a lot of books.
