My thoughts-
Dying to Read (Book 1 in the Cate Kinkaid Files series) by Lorena McCourtney
Cate is an almost 30 year old, jobless women who has had many failings in her life. her uncle who is a PI decides to give her a shot at being a private investigator and see if she can find a women by the name of Willow. When she arrives at Willow’s last known address she meets a group of women know as the Whodunit Book Club. She also discovers a dead body and goes on a mission to solve the case.
Cate is also a Christian and starts relying on God to keep her safe, help decided who she can trust and even relies on Him to help her know what the right direction is for her love life. The book really shows you how much God is there for us and how. no matter what, we should trust Him to keep us safe and protect our hearts.

I was very excited to read a Christian murder mystery. I’ve never read one and wasn’t sure how it would be written. Most mysteries I’ve read have had sex, blood, violence and foul language. With “Dying to Read” you get a murder, suspicious people, romance (clean, a simple peck on the cheek) and clean language.
This book really had me turning pages, wanting to know who did it. Just when you think you got it all figured out you realize you were all wrong and then change your mind again. I felt like I was going back and forth between several people as to who was the killer. In the end you’ll find yourself just hoping everyone will be ok and the truth will come out.
I’m excited that this will be a book series. I’m in love with the character that was developed with Cate. I want to see her go through more mysteries. I want to see if she can find true love. And maybe some characters from this first book will pop up too.

If you want to really good, “clean” murder mystery I would totally recommend this book. I know I loved it and I think you will too. I would say this book would be for mainly women ages 16+. But I think the guys might like it too.
