My Thoughts-
With me being stuck off my feet a lot we’ve been looking for some great new movies to watch with my kids. Something we can enjoy together while I recover. “I Heart Shakey” from Phase 4 films, is a family friendly movie about a father and his daughter and their dog. J.T., the dad gets a great job opportunity in Chicago. After they move in they find out they can’t keep Shakey, their dog. Shakey is part of the family and they have no where to bring him. Plus they are under a contract with the current place they moved into. With little money and no where to go they are forced to find a home for their dog.

The movie takes you on a zany adventure with quirky, even cheesy characters. At times the movie goes in to a cartoon mode while Chandler, the daughter, share her story. It kind of reminded me of Lizzie McGuire with all the craziness and cartoon interludes.

The movie is very cute and sweet. And very cheesy. It’s meant to be cheesy, it’s meant to make you laugh. My oldest watched this one with me and she couldn’t stop laughing through the who movie. The ironic twist at the end had her roaring with laughter, which in turn made me laugh.

If you’re looking for a fun loving family movie, that will make you laugh, I would totally recommend “I Heart Shakey”.

“Starring Steve Lemme of Broken Lizard and Steve Guttenberg, I Heart Shakey follows J.T., and his daughter Chandler as they move from a small town to Chicago where they are forced to find their lovable mutt Shakey a new home. Chandler hatches a plan to keep Shakey and teaches her dad a valuable lesson about loyalty and the importance of keeping family together. Rated PG//102 minutes”
