“Nothing to Hide”- A Roland March Mystery by J. Mark Bertrand
I’ve read the first two books in the Roland March series and totally loved them. I couldn’t wait to start reading this third book and really hoped that he’d come to believe and trust in God in this book.
Story opens with March at a crime scene with a headless body and with a man who appears to have been tortured. They need to figure out who this man is and who killed him. Through a series of unfortunate events March is given a leave of absents and was told he was no longer working this case. But this case has him worried that there is more to all this then what they have found and been told so he starts to work the case behind the scenes. He risks his life to get to the bottom of this mystery.
I wasn’t sucked into this story as much as I was with the first two books but towards the end it got better for me. I was a little disappointed that March is still denying that God exists. I was hoping that this “Christian” book series would have more of God in. However if I disregard this as a Christian book I would say I really enjoyed it once I got into it. I found at the end holding my breath hoping March will be safe and be able to return to his wife. And hoping he can solve this case that is not only about a headless man but so much more.
I would recommend this book to those who like detective and mystery book. This would be for both men and women, ages 16+. Although I didn’t enjoy this book as much as the first two I still look forward to more, if there will be more.
