Over four and a half weeks ago I fell down the stairs and ruptured my Achilles tendon. Four and a half weeks ago was also my last shower. If you missed the first three post you can check them out here.
This is my new shower chair. I never thought I’d be so excited for a shower chair and taking a shower, as I was today. I’m still not allowed to stand on my foot and I still have to wear my boot at all times with the exception of the daily exercises I have to do with my foot. For the past four and a half weeks I’ve been “bathing” in my bathroom sink twice a week and been going to my salon once a week to have my hair washed. I had a lot of great ideas from people on how I could shower and bathe but they just didn’t work with our bathtub.
We found a really good price on this shower chair and we had to get it. I was tired of feeling dirty all the time. I took a nice long, hot shower today and I feel amazing. I haven’t felt this clean in so long and I look forward to my next shower which will be on Saturday. I also had to use a product called “Seal-Tight” to cover my boot. (look out for a review coming soon) Thank you to “A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYTHING” for letting me know about this product.
I saw my physical therapist for the first time this week. He’s really amazing and knows what he’s doing. He works regularly with this type of injury and with athletic people. He wasn’t too happy at where my healing is after 4 weeks but he then remembered I’m two weeks behind because of the delay in getting proper care. He was please to see my tendon reacting with my calf. It’s just a slight move but it’s showing it is healing. It just might take me longer because of the delay. He moved my foot around(very slightly) and then had it iced with electrodes to encourage more blood flow. I am now to keep the boot on at all times with the exception of taking it off 5x’s a day to do a movement with it he showed me. Still no weight on it. Happy to see progress.
I will be going on Rogers TV “daytime” at the end of the month. I will be talking about my injury and how I’m staying fit and healthy even without the use of my feet, NO EXCUSES. I have one product right now I will be for sure talking about, a hand bike. I’m still looking for ways that I can talk about strength training and keeping weight off when not being as active as I’m use to. If you know of any company that would like to work with me, please let me know(must be something that doesn’t require putting weight on my legs). This is a perfect opportunity to get your product seen on TV.
More updates to come. I’m thankful for all of you. Thank you for sticking with me. I’m a bit slow and getting products to review but I have some great ones that will go up next week. Look for to sharing with you about more great products I’ve been working with.
