Silk Canada inspiring Canadians to reduce their carbon footprint

For over a year and a half I have been drinking almond milk. I love the health benefits and the taste. My favorite company to purchase almond milk from is Silk Canada. I’ve always loved knowing that buying milk from Silk was helping the environment with it using fewer greenhouse gas emissions and using less water than dairy milk. Now I’m even more excited to know that Silk Canada has partnered with Tree Canada to help plant more trees. They created a Carbon Calculator on Facebook. With it you can pledge to to ways you can reduce your carbon footprint. And when you take this pledge Silk Canada will donate a dollar to Tree Canada. I think this is totally awesome and have taken the pledge, I hope you will too.

As I said before I love Silk True Almond. I use it in my cereal, mac & cheese and even making my morning shakes. I wanted to share with you my favorite recipe to help you on your way to creating a tasty drink, buying to help the environment and to give you a healthy alternative to making your meals.

1 cup Silk True Almond (I pick unsweetened but original works just as well)
1 TBSP natural peanut butter
1 cup frozen raspberries
1 cup baby spinach (don’t worry you don’t taste it and it adds so many vitamins and nutrients)
1 serving of your favorite chocolate protein mix
a few ice cubes

Blend all together till smooth, pour into a cup and enjoy!! I love drinking this for breakfast, it tastes amazing (like having a treat) and gives me a ton of energy for the day.
So what are you waiting for? Hope you will go out and get some Silk Milk, plus while you’re at to be sure to take the pledge to reduce your carbon footprint.
