6. Where have you worked?
First jobs were in the summer of 1996. I worked at the Dairy Stop and The Temple Twin Theater. I LOVED both jobs a lot. I loved creating ice cream cones for every one, plus I discovered how amazing breaded, fried dill pickles here! I also loved working at the Temple Theater, I worked mainly at the video rental area but also got to make popcorn and sell drinks. I loved the smell, I LOVED my boss- Kelly, he was so kind and helpful with me, I was slow at learning but he gave me a chance.
My Next couple of jobs were are Moody Bible Institute. I worked at Moody Video, Moody cassette Ministries, The Dinning Hall, and in Accounting. My two favorite jobs were Moody Video and Accounting. At Moody Video we took orders for Moody Science videos and other Christian movies. What I loved most was the atmosphere, it was relaxed and we got to watch the Science videos during down times, I had so much fun. But I have to say account was my favorite job of all time! I’m a numbers girl and I loved doing the data entry. I also got to organize and file paperwork and I loved that too. I wish I was still living in Chicago and was still working in accounting.
One summer while at Moody I went back home to Iowa and I worked at a factory that processed what I would call “junk mail”. Things like publishers clearing house and bounty paper towel samples. It was an ok job. I injured myself working to hard and too fast. But I didn’t have a choice, they make you meet a quota everyday and you have to work fast. It sucks companies do that to you. I still suffer from this injury and that was over 13 years ago.
Once I moved to Canada I had a job working at my husband’s work. i only worked there for a month. I got pregnant and very very sick and couldn’t make it to work, so I was asked to leave. This was the last paid job I did.
I am now a stay at home mom, which is full-time work plus some. And I’m a full-time blogger. I love both of these jobs and wouldn’t give them up. My kids may be pains sometimes but I love them more then life itself. And my blog takes me 30+ hours every week and I don’t get paid for it but I love meeting new companies, other bloggers and having the chance to go on TV sometimes.
I am joining A Little Unhinged and a bunch of other bloggers on a 15 day Challenge to help you get to know me better. For the next 15 days I will have a theme to follow. You can check out all the days by clicking on this link.
