“Dark Passing” by Elizabeth Schulte
“Dark Passing” is the second book in the series, I never read the first book “Dark Corners”. I do want to say that even though I never read the first book I was still able to really enjoy this book. I was not lost at all. I do want to read the first book now, after reading this book.
Ella Reynolds is a writer who recently wrote a book about her haunted house and the murder of her husband. She’s very much an interavert, who likes to spend time at home (a home that is haunted) and not open up to her boyfriend about how she feels. She is working on becoming more open and by the end of the book she is better about sharing her feeling then she was at the beginning. One day there is a knock on the door, it’s a women that reminders her of herself a few months ago. The women is looking for who killed her daughter, Mary, and she wants Ella to help her solve it by writing a book about her. Ella agrees and begins to work on the case to help her write her book and hopes to help solve the case.
There is a huge twist at the end of the book that I won’t giveaway. Wile Ella is investigating Mary’s murder there are two more murders in town. All three murders are very gory and heart breaking.
I really enjoyed reading this book, it’s fast paced and had me wanting to solve this case just as badly as Ella wanted to solve it. I was bothered by the descriptions of the death, so that would be a warning to anyone who might be interested in reading this book.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good murder mystery with a love story twist.
