I am excited to have found the group of women called, Mamavation. They are there to support, encourage and motivate each other to reach their goals in health and fitness. As most of you know I love talking about fitness and health and I LOVE encouraging each of you to reach your goals. I think this group is a perfect fit for me. And for 2013 I am in need of encouragement myself. After the bad ending to 2012 I am pumped to get back on track and fight to keep healthy.
For those of you new here. Christmas day 2010 I gave myself the gift of changing my life to be healthy and fit. In one year I lost 70lbs and gained a lot of strength. In 2012 I made a goal to start running. I fell in love with running and ran my first 5K in May, I had all plans of running a 10K in October but fell down my stairs and ruptured my Achilles tendon. Since then I have been bed/chair ridden. But I never gave up on being healthy and fit. I found ways to keep up cardio and keep the weight off. I did gain 10lbs through this injury but I plan on getting that off plus more in 2013.
Being part of Mamavation would mean a lot to me. It’s a perfect source for everything I’ll need to reach my goals. And speaking of goals, this week is all about listing our goals and how to achieve them. Below is my list.
1- I would like to loose 25lb by the end of June. I plan on doing this by keeping a food journal, working out minimum of 30 minutes a day 5-6 days a week.
2- I want to be able to run a 5K again by the end of May. I plan of following the Couch to 5K program I used last year. I’ve done it before and I know I can do it again.
3- in 2012 my goal was to run a 10K in October but because of my accident I didn’t get to reach my goal. I am making this goal again for 2013
4- I would like to be in a size 12 pants by September. I’m a tall girl so any smaller then that and we run into length issues.
I think these four goals are very attainable and I hope to share with you my journey for each one.
