Chris’ Thoughts-
VEGGIETALES: The Little House That Stood
The girls and I watched the new Veggietales video last weekend. As usual we totally enjoyed it. There is always great content for both children and adults and we love Veggietales because of the great stories and morals that it teaches the kids.
There are two main stories on this DVD. The first is a take on the parable of the house built on rock mixed in with the three little pigs. It was a cute story that helped teach to build a strong foundation, and to work hard and not just take the easy way. At the end of the story it tied it in to building a strong faith in God to help us through hard times.
The second story on the DVD was a retelling of the fairy tale ‘Humpty Dumpty”. It had Bob the Tomato playing Humpty, the mayor of Gooseville who used to help everyone, but over time he stopped being so helpful. Through interactions with other well known fairy tale characters, he learns that helping out those around him in just small ways can have a great affect on everyone in town, and in doing so they end up helping him with his problems as well.
The girls loved the whole DVD (including the house favorite ‘Silly Songs with Larry’), and have already asked to watch it again. We would recommend that you add this to your collection!
