Buying a New Van from Bustard Chrysler

posted in Bustard Chrysler, Canada, family, Kitchener Waterloo, review on by

Our van was getting old.. 15 years old.. It was still working well for the most part, but more and more things were beginning to have problems or ‘features’ that would stop working. Ever since we bought it a few years ago it began costing us money to fix. AC, alternator, AC again, Spare tire fell off while driving, Air Ride suspension had a leak, breaks, power sliding door stopped working.. It came to a point where we had to decide, do we keep putting more money into this one, not knowing when it will ‘kick the bucket’ or do we look for something better.

We started looking around at a number of different options, mostly focusing on used vehicles. We weren’t actively searching, but we were looking with the intent to purchase fairly soon.

With everything that happened to both Erica and Moo in the last few months and all the trips to the hospital, it became evident that we needed to make sure we had a reliable vehicle to continue making those trips and not break down somewhere at the side of the road somewhere.

While I was driving home from work, I heard a radio ad for a brand new 2013 Dodge Caravan for a very good weekly payment and also received a flyer in the mail right around the same time for Bustard Chrysler in Waterloo. The payment was actually lower for this brand new vehicle then it would have been for many of the used vehicles I was looking at. I submitted a request on their website that evening as they were already closed as I was afraid I had already missed the promotion. The next day Derek from Bustard called me up to discuss my needs and what my budget was. We talked about a few options and setup a time for me to come in and do a test drive.

Derek was great to work with. He was very knowledgeable, and ready to work within my budget to find a vehicle that worked for our family. We found that the base model 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan ‘Canada Value Package’ was the best fit and I test drove one of the ones they had on the lot. There were some features that we liked from higher models, but he was great as he knew our budget and what we needed and was never pushy to get some bell or whistle that would cost us more then we could afford. We took the family for a drive around town for the afternoon to get a feel for how it drove, and how we would fit the family in, thinking forward to trips to visit family and for our new addition coming later on in the summer.

We loved it.. It drove great, was smooth, quiet, cool (it was a fairly warm April day when we took it for a drive and was nice to have the AC work so quickly) and had good space for everyone.

Over the next little while we will be posting some blogs about the 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan and different features that we like and anything else we learn about the vehicle as we use it.

We loved our experience with Derek and the whole Bustard team and look forward to working with them for a long time! We strongly recommend you give Derek a call and let them know we told you call him!
