Wow, Wow, Wow, Wow!! I’ve seen a lot of great Christian movies lately and I think “Ring the Bell” is at the top of my list of must see movies. In fact we’re going to see if our small group can watch it and then use the online discussion guide to talk about it.
The movie opens up with a character named, Rob Decker. He’s a big shot guy, and owner, CEO of sports agency. He heads to a small town called, Middletown to sign a high school student who is wanted by many agencies. The kid isn’t interested, he wants to go to college and become a doctor. While in this town Rob also meet another athletic superstar named Scooter. He can strike out anyone. Scooter isn’t interested either. He loves where God has put him and his sister, running a group home for boys.
Rob learns a lot the week he is in town. He sees a difference in the lives of everyone he meets, he even attend a Casting Crowns concert, where he starts to question his own life and what he is doing with it.
A few times when Rob visits the group home he sees a boy ring a bell. He learns that this bell is rung when someone asks Christ into their lives. Dixie, Scooter’s sister, explains it’s taking the love and change in your heart and letting it have a sound.
You’re holding on to the very end, hoping to see Rob change his life and ring that bell. I won’t tell you what happens, you need to watch it to see.
Like I said at the beginning, I LOVED this movie. The Gospel of Christ is presented clearly a few times throughout the movie. The acting was superb and the music was great to listen to. There are a lot of big name people in this movie. Steven Curtis Chapman plays a pastor, Casting Crowns hold a concert, there are also a few big name baseball players in the movie.
This movie is worth buying and watch and sharing. I usually donate my DVD’s/Books to my church library after I review them, I think I will keep mine and buy a copy for the church. I love it that much. I’m also excited to be able to give away a copy to one of my readers. I hope you’ll spread the word about this movie, it’s a must see.
