My Thoughts-
I’m excited and sad to have the opportunity to review the third and final video in the “True Beauty” series called, “Not of This World”. I’ve enjoyed the first two videos so much and this third one didn’t disappoint. I’m sad because the series is ending, I’ve gotten so much out of these videos.

Being not of this world and giving up much has been a theme for me recently in my devotions and it has come up again with this video. Lisa Chan speaks to us about what it really means to live for God and only God. Our time here on Earth is short and soon we will be really “home” with Jesus. We shouldn’t put all our hope and worth on things of this world.

Matthew 6:19-21

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

In this video there is also a women who shares her story and struggles. She shares about her husband and the trouble he got into and how her family had to give up everything so they could pay rent and eat. She shares about another family who comes to them and helps them. Towards the end of her story she says the following. I view it as a challenge I need to meet. I have been blessed with much and should be willing to give much back to others.

“We’re given things of this world to share. It’s not ours to Keep. it’s not ours to hold onto. You really got to open up and share what you’re given.”

I really enjoyed this video, as well as the other two in this series. They really speak to me. I also love that each one comes with a guide to help you think through each video. I would recommend these videos to all Christian women and would also hope churches would invest in them as well for personal Bible Studies and small groups.

I’m sad to see this series end but I hope to see more from Lisa Chan.
