My Thoughts-
Welcome to Last Chance by Cathleen Armstrong

Lainie is running away from her past but before she could get to her destination her car dies. She pulls into a town called Last Chance. It’s a small community and they welcome her with open arms. She’s not use to these kind of people and doesn’t know who she can trust. She ends up staying at an elderly lady’s house, Elizabeth, who’s main rule is “if you sleep at my house Saturday night you have to come to church with me Sunday morning.” Lainie also meets a man named, Ray. She finds him interesting, yet doesn’t want to be close to him. Will her past catch up to her? Will she allow the town of Last Chance to come part of her new family?

This book is full of everything, a little suspense, some romance, friendship and most importantly God and what He does in the lives of the people of Last Chance.

I found this book easily sucked me in. I fell in love with the characters right away and even got attached to them. When something bad happens I found myself holding my breath and hoping everything will turn out ok. I even fell in love with the “bad guy” of the town, I felt sorry for him. The plot was easy to follow and had enough depth to keep me engaged.

The Gospel message is played throughout this book and presented in several ways. I loved reading about trusting and hoping in God.

I would recommend this book for Christians ages 14+. I am also happy to hear there will be more in this series and can’t wait to read more of Cathleen Armstrong’s stories and meet new people. This is definitely my my SUMMER MUST READ list!!
