“Coming Home For Christmas” on DVD at your local Walmart.
The movie starts out with a family many years ago. Two sisters shown as best friends and parents who are deeply in love. Then one day all that changed. They girls are now adults and refuse to talk to each other, it’s been five years. And the mother (Amy Jo Johnson from Flashpoint) now runs a daycare and is depressed because of financial issues and because of her daughters fighting. The father is living in a fantasy world where everything is ok. The conflict between them is too much and they want to separate. The girls learn of this and want/need to do something about it. Will the sisters be able to work together or will they fight? Will the parents come together for the family?
This movie has it all. You have comedy, romance, suspense, it’s a good family fun movie. I love that the movie is done around Christmas time but does not focus on the gifts/consumerism. It’s all about family closeness, about memories and love.
I watched this movie with my parents and by the end we were all in tears. It’s such a happy, warm feeling movie. It’s nice to be focused on family, the ups and downs, as long as we are there for each other in the end.
The movie is full of great singers, such as Carly and Britt McKillip, George Canyon and Jordan Macintosh. This made for a beautiful ending, sitting around the Christmas tree and fire place singing a song together as a family.
