My Thoughts-
“King’s Faith” on DVD

Brendan King (CRAWFORD WILSON) was a very troubled teen. He’s been in and out of foster care, part of a gang, and spent time in Juvenal prison. While in prison he was visited by a pastor who gave him a Bible. Since it was the only book he could read, he read it a lot and turned his life over to God. He is now in another foster home, one with a strong faith, yet a huge hurt. There are some people who believe that Brendan has changed and is good, and there are others who are just waiting for him to fail. When his past comes back to haunt him, Brendan is left with some difficult choices. He’s afraid of the ones he loves getting hurt but he also want to be sure to do what is right in God’s eyes.

“King’s Faith” a journey of faith from a teen’s prospective. Not only from the troubled teen of Brendan but also others he comes in contact with. Can he prove to himself that he has changed and to trust in what God has planned? Can the popular girl in school forgive herself and trust that God loves her? Can the family that Brendan is living with find their way back to God after the tragedy they have lived through? This movie faces all of this and more.

I enjoyed this move. It hits you in the heart. It makes you think on your life and those around you. I also found I was very intense when others were through doubt towards Brendan and questioning if he has changed. I wanted to see that even the toughest, baddest person can change and have a peaceful life through Christ.

The movie does have violence and blood, as well as many tough teen topics- such as, abortion, drugs, peer pressure… I would recommend if you are going to watch this with your teen that you watch it first, then watch the special features. This way you are prepared to discus the movie with your child. I would also suggest not watching this movie with kids younger the 16, it’s a very deep movie to take in.

I give this movie a 5 out of 5. It’s filmed and written extremely well. And it’s a good movie for youth groups and Bible studies to watch and have a great discussion over.
