Chris’ Thoughts-
Thor: The Dark World in theaters November 8, 2013

When Erica asked me to go see Thor: The Dark World for her I gladly accepted. I have enjoyed most of the recent Marvel movies and was looking forward to seeing this one. The movie picks up where “The Avengers” left off. Somewhere between a few months and a year after the events that took place in New York. Jane Foster is in London England, doing some research and hoping to find Thor since she hasn’t seen him in two years. After stumbling onto some very weird things that are happening, she ends up starting a chain of events awakening an ancient enemy of Asgard who Thor’s Grandfather had virtually destroyed hundreds of years before.

Thor, Jane and a few others must fight to destroy this enemy before they seek to destroy the universe and plunge it back into darkness.

I really liked this movie. It’s a bit of a departure from the typical ‘Superhero’ movie as a lot of it doesn’t happen on Earth and it digs deeper into the culture and history of Asgard, where Thor is from. There is plenty of action, drama a little romance and quite a few one liners that had the whole audience laughing throughout the movie. I think it was well written and directed and the cinematography was good as well as the special effects. The 3D was not overdone or forced like some movies have been. Make sure to stay for the credits as a new character is introduced leading into next years release of Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ that you won’t want to miss.

Thank you to Disney and Marvel for allowing me to go see this movie. Make sure you go see it!
