KIND Healthy Grains Bars- Review (dedicated to my kids- #kindawesome)

My Thoughts-
As a family we try to give our children healthy snacks. And with our diabetic child we really try focusing on making each carb she eats count, as in the healthiest she can have and taste great too. We were very excited to have the opportunity to try out KIND’s new Healthy Grain Bars.

My kids are my world, my super stars. They work hard at school, help around the house and are just amazing super stars. My oldest loves to be the “mother” of her younger sibling and helps take care of them any chance she can get. Her favorite KIND bar is the Oats & Honey with toasted coconut. In fact she didn’t let me taste the bar and even swiped the second bar before I had a chance to try it. She tells me it’s her FAVORITE and she would love it for every snack.


My middle child is my hero, my rainbow that can be found in a storm. It was almost a year ago that she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. She was only 3 at the time, it scared her, she’d scream and cry every time we had to test her blood sugar and give her insulin. Today she tests her own blood sugar, pulls up her sleeves for insulin injections. She is also getting ready to receive an insulin pump. Since being diagnosed she has become more compassionate towards others. If she knows someone is sick she wants to give them a hug and let them know that they will be ok. Because of her diabetes we have become more aware of what she eats, how much she eats and what health value it is for her. She can eat candy but that would be a waste of the carbs she is allowed in a day, so choosing healthy alternatives is our goal. KIND healthy grain bars are perfect for her. She is allowed 20-30 grams of carbs for a snack and the bars contain 20-25 grams of carbs, making a perfect snack for her. She has LOVED every kind she has eaten. Like her big sister, she wouldn’t let me try her bars. She has enjoyed Vanilla Blueberry and Dark Chocolate Chunk the most.


My youngest is only 5 months old, so of course he hasn’t eaten any KIND bars. But I still want to mention him. Even at 5 months I can already see what kind of guy he is going to be. He’s so loving, gives great cuddles. He is also extremely funny and he knows it too. The silly faces he gives us are priceless and he loves to laugh about them. I’m honored to get to watch him grow up.

Since he can’t try KIND bars I did it for him. My favorite kind of KIND Healthy grains bar is, Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate, it was so good that I couldn’t believe it was healthy for me. I ate two bar of them, not sharing with my girls, hehe. I also tried the Maple Pumpkin Seeds with Sea Salt. It was ok, I didn’t like how salty they were, but I guess that it’s how they are suppose to be since they have sea salt in them.


All KIND healthy grains bars are gluten free and are non GMO. They also contains 5 super grains, amaranth, quinoa, gluten-free oats, millet and buckwheat. There are also 5 flavors to choose from, Dark Chocolate Chunk, Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate, Vanilla Blueberry, Maple Pumpkin Seeds with Sea Salt and Oats & Honey with Toasted Coconut.

We as a family love these bars and I can see them becoming part of our snack routine.
