I was very excited to try out Organic Matcha- Green Tea Powder by Kiss Me Organics. I’ve heard so many benefits for using Matcha green tea powder but I never knew where to buy it or how to prepare it. The Matcha from Kiss Me Organics came in a resealable bag and a 70 page Organic Matcha Recipe Guide.
Matcha Green Tea powder helps boost my energy, boosts metabolism, and is high in antioxidants. I tried several recipes from the book that I will talk about below but first I want to share my thoughts on how I felt with it. I didn’t notice a boost in energy, I’m always lacking energy but when I would prepare a drink or food made with Matcha I found I had more energy for the day, even enough to fit in my daily activities AND a 1.5 workout! That’s a big deal for me, working out has become so hard because I would be burned out by the end of the day. I didn’t notice any weight loss with the boost metabolism, but had only been trying this for 2 weeks before I wrote this review. I can say my appetite was suppressed and my cravings weren’t so strong. That’s a huge positive. I find when I’m tired, I feel “hungry” and then I tend to over eat. The Matcha seemed to help with this issue.
Now on to some of the recipes I tried. The first one I made was Matcha Orange Cocktail. It was simple to make, just 1 tsp of Match powder, orange juice, hot water and ice cubes. This drink was so refreshing, it made me think of sitting out on the deck on a nice warm summer day.
The next recipe I tested out was “Immune-Boosting Matcha-Berry”. This was another simple recipe to create. You have 2 tsp of the Matcha powder, steamed broccoli (sounds strange I know but you don’t taste it), frozen strawberries, yogurt and pomegranate juice. You blend it and serve. It makes two serving so I shared some with my husband. This one also reminded me of a summer day and was so refreshing.
Another day I decided to make a batch of Matcha Biscuits. The recipe was a bit confusing as the photo in the book didn’t look like the biscuits were green and the recipe never mentioned when to put the Matcha in. But I figured it out and put it in with the flour and at the end or the recipe it did say they biscuits should look brownish greenish once cooked. These were very yummy. I couldn’t eat just one, they had so much flavor. They made a great snack and a great side to my meal.
One last recipe I want to share with you is the Almond Matcha Shots. It’s simple for those on the go. You need 1 tsp of Matcha powder, 1 cup almond milk and ice. You shake it up and then drink it. It tasted like a nice cold green tea drink. This one is my “go-o” recipe because it’s the easiest to prepare on a busy day.
I’m very impressed with the Organic Matcha- Green Tea Powder by Kiss Me Organics. It tastes great, it comes with simple recipes and it has given me the energy I need for my day. I also love that it only takes 1 teaspoon of the powder to create the recipes, my bag will last for a long time this way.
