My Thoughts-
VeggieTales’ new DVD “Beauty and the Beet” is based after the story of Beauty and the Beast but with a Veggie twist.

Mirabelle and her family band, The Veggietones, are stranded in a snow storm and are forced to stay at Mr Beet’s hotel. A hotel that has only a 1 star review. Mr Beet is a mean man, he’s bitter at the world. However Mirabelle is still kind to him. He asks her why and she say, we all make mistakes in life but God still shows us love. Through Mirabelle’s kindness Mr Beet is able to have a change of heart and shows kindness to her and her family.

The VeggieTales movie isn’t a movie without Silly Songs with Larry. In the middle of our story we learn about where Macaroni and Cheese comes from. It’s very silly, just like it should.

We really enjoyed watching this new movie. The music is catchy. The Mirabelle character’s voice is done by Kellie Pickler, so it’s a bit of country with the Veggietones. Be sure to watch to the very end, there is a Christmas song surprise. Also check out the Special features for some yummy recipes, learn about the behind the scenes of the movies, and enjoy some sing-a-longs.

The story really gets the point across of loving even if the person we are to love isn’t kind to us. You never know why they are mean, they may just need some love. In the theme of hotel ratings, I give this movie 5 STARS for sending a good message, great special features, and one of the silliest songs I’ve heard.
