I am part of Mom Central Canada’s Campbell’s Soup test group. I’m not required to make any blog posts or social media post but there are some of these meal that are just too good to not share.
Today we tried the Cheesy Beef Lasagna. With prep, pre-cooking and cooking it took a total of 2 hours and 10 minutes to make. This was another easy recipe to prepare and cook, it just took a long time to do it all. I started preparing dinner at 1 PM, that was cutting and measuring veggies, measuring out the cheeses and measuring out the spices. I then had to cook the mushrooms and onion for 5 minutes, then adding the 3 lbs of ground beef and garlic to the pan, that took around 10 minutes to cook it all, then I had to transfer the mix to a bigger pot because I realized the three cans of soup and 3 cups of broth weren’t going to fit in with it all. Once that was all cooked up I mixed the cheese mixture. I then layered the meat, noodles, cheese, meat, noodles, cheese, meat, noodles, meat and then topped it all off with Parmesan cheese and mozzarella cheese. I covered and bakes for 45 minutes, then uncovered it and baked for another 15 minutes, then took it our of the over to cook for 10 minutes.
I would suggest you put your dish on top of a baking pan, my meal spilled over and burned to the bottom of the over. We also had leftover meat mixture because there was no way it was all going to fit. The awesome thing is, the meat mixture will make a great spaghetti sauce.
There are 12 servings with this meal and one serving it extremely filling. This means this one meal will make 3 meals plus with the extra meat mixture a spaghetti meal too.
My whole family LOVED this. Our 17 month old was humming, “yum” while he ate. Both daughters want to bring a half serving with them to school tomorrow and they are excited that we are going to have another dinner of it this week.
This is a HUGE keeper for our family. And it will be great for potlucks at our church.
I only have one more meal to test for this program, hope to be sharing it with you soon.
Thank you Mom Central Canada and Campbell’s.
