(I received free products in order to host a Disney Side @ Home Celebration. The opinions expressed here are my own”. Thank you Disney Parks and MomSelect)
Today is Family day in Ontario, Canada. To celebrate we hosted our #disneyside @home celebration Villains party. We had 12 kids and 10 adults attend. From what I can tell everyone had a blast and loved all the special Disney magic they received.
Before I talk more about the actual party I want to talk about all the prep that went into it.
Disney sent me a box full of goodies to get me started, then I put my creative juices in gear and went shopping.
I found some items at a dollar store to add to the goodie bags, as well as a few items for decorating. I found a Villains CD, Villain stickers and Villains Jelly Belly beans on amazon. My parents found Villain puzzles and sent them to me to use. I also bought from a few stores, Mickey jelly Belly Beans and dispenser, Micky hand-soap (got to give our bathroom a little Disney in it, right?), and Micky & Minnie goodie boxes.
I then got crafty and did the following decorations. I bought cheap vases and added black flowers and some white roses painted red. I also bought little bottles and filled them with purple & green glitter. I call it Evil Villain Potion Powder.
It was time to make the goodie bags for the kids and I made ones for the adults as well.
For the Kid goodie bags I used bags from Subway. They were filled with the Villain puzzles that we bought, the Villain stickers, Jelly Belly Beans and the Mickey & Minnie goodie boxes. Also included were nail files, Cinderella buttons, HP photo paper, DisneySide luggage tags, all given to use by Disney. And some Disney dried fruit snacks I found at the store.
For the adults I found black coffee mugs and put in a bookmark I made, diamond boxes celebrating Disneyland 60th anniversary (filled with Jelly Belly Beans) and a bag of Twinnings Tea that was given to us from Disney.
Next came the food. Oh the food. We made Tie Dye Cupcakes with the box of Duff mix (from Disney), a Mickey rice crispy treat head decorated by my hubby(pan given to us by Disney), popcorn bags, and veggie/meat/cheese try. We cut the meat and cheese with the Mickey cookie cutter we got last year for our party.
We are now ready for our party. Please watch this video to see what the guests will be enjoying.
When the guests arrived they had a chance to take photos in the photo booth, with a few props we made. My husband used his printer and the HP paper we were given to print out the photos for everyone to take home.(more photos will be at the bottom of the blog)
While we waited for everyone to come the kids were given black folders full of coloring pages and actives to do to pass the time away.
Next was games. We played BINGO and pin the smile on Mickey. I didn’t get many photos because I was busy running the games.
After games was FOOD!!! We watched the Disney Parks DVD that came in the disneyside box while we ate. I think everyone loved this part, there were hardly any leftovers. And after food was some more photo booth time.
I want to thank all the sponsors for their kindness. This made for a very fun Party.
