“No Longer A Slumdog: Bringing Hope to Children in Crisis” by K.P. Yohannan, the founder of Gospel of Asia. It’s 139 pages of stories from the suffering children in Asia.
The stories tell of children in slavery, sold for sex, starving, abandoned and oppressed. It shares the hope these children have and the hope many more can have through the ministry of GFA Bridge of Hope. GFA Bridge of Hope helps these children through education, physical helps and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The stories in this book ripped my heart out. I can’t even image what these children go through and what their parents must have been going through to sell their children or abandon them. Some of these parents are just in despair and want to help their children. They feel that if they give their children away that maybe they would be fed and clothed and given a home. But I smiled with the hope they are given with the help of GFA Bridge of Hope and Gospel of Asia. They have helped so many children. It’s hard to describe what this book talks about, I could never capture the stories in whole with out giving away what the book says.
They want to help more, but need our help. Check out their website and see what you can do to help them. I’m thankful for the work they have done and pray for them, pray for the children, pray for help and funds. Please join me in these prayers and if you’re able to financially help that would be great too.
