My Thoughts-
“The Knight and the Firefly: A Boy, a Bug and a Lesson in Bravery” by Tara McClary Reeves & Amanda Jenkins

We enjoyed another book in this series recently and was excited for the opportunity to read and review this other book. Oliver is a brave knight, he defends the bugs from the frog, Doyle. When it’s time for bed Oliver asks his mom several questions about God and the dark and monsters. Oliver isn’t very brave once it goes dark. He’s so afraid that he doesn’t sleep well. The next day he is too tired to fend off Doyle the frog and his insect friends are in danger. The next night he is still scared but his friend, Phineas, the firefly shows up and talks to him about God, and Psalms 91. How God is in the shadows, to trust in Him and He will keep you safe and give you strength. Oliver gets a good night’s sleep and is ready to face the evil frog Doyle once again.

At the end of each of these books there is a page for the parents. It helps us talk about the lesson learned, the Bible verse and what we can do with what we learned.

We love these books a lot. They are about a boy on adventures but my girls love them a lot too. I think they like the adventures too. We love the illustrations and how easy the story can be read.I’m hoping for more in this series to come out. I KNOW we will be adding them to our collection.
