“Grace of God” on DVD
Someone from the church has taken over $30,000. A detective is called in to investigate. He doesn’t believe in God and is cynical about Christians. The pastor and secretary ask the detective to be sensitive in how he talks to the people at the church. To not accuse them and bully them into answering his questions. This is a tough task for him to do. At the same time he is getting closer to the secretary. The secretary has two adult daughters, one who lives at home and does nothing and the other who recently moved back with her kids because of an abusive relationship. The detective finally figures out who stole the money but he doesn’t want to say anything. He also goes to church for the first time. While there he sees the pastor and other church members confessing to “stealing” things, from sermons, pencils, etc… After church he goes to talk to the pastor and tell him how stole the money, he find the person who did it with the pastor confessing. This gives him a new out look on Christians, a new hope on life.
This was a very cute movie to watch. It’s got some romance in it, mystery and a Godly message. The only part I didn’t get was at the beginning and ending of the movie where there is another pastor played by John Ratzenberger, he is telling the story of this story. It kind of felt awkward with that in there, it would have worked as the story was without the extra story teller.
I would recommend this movie to ages 8 and up. It’s a good clean movie that has a positive story and good morals. This will be one we will keep in our collection for a long time and enjoy as a family for many years.
