I started out with our kitchen. We’re thinking of either having the colors be yellow or blue. The first piece of artwork I found was “Light And Glass” by Jenni Kupelian. It’s a photo of blue and clear glass bottles. It’s simple, yet very beautiful, plus it looks like it should be in my kitchen. With each print you have many options to pick from. You can pick the size you would like, they even have a live model holding each size print to give you an idea of the size. You can also pick if you want a frame, there are several frames to choose from and you can click on each style to see how it will look around the artwork. If I decide to go with yellow as our kitchen color I would LOVE to have “Lemonade & Moonbeams” by Paper Dahlia. It’s simple but makes me think of lemons. The great thing is I can buy this print in yellow, blue or black, so I can add both yellow & blue to my kitchen.
For our living room we are trying to find a print of the Chicago skyline in black & white. Minted doesn’t have what we’re looking for but we would also be ok with a simplistic artwork on our wall, maybe something that looks antique/vintage. One photo I really love is the “Hawkeye” by Amy Wagner. My husband and I love photography and to have an photo of any old camera in black & white would be amazing. As a bonus to me, I grew up in Iowa and I’m a Hawkeye fan, cool they have the same name.
With each art work there is a “About the work” section. You can read the meaning behind the photo or painting and you can see what the artist was thinking when making it. I think this gives each piece that special touch for me to pick out the one I want. Knowing what they artwork represents is special.
I spent hours looking through their wide selection of art. I found so many pieces I want, not only for my kitchen and family room but also for my kids room, laundry room and bathroom. I believe if I can find so many I like, then I think there is something on there for everyone.
