My Thoughts-
“Pirate’s Code The Adventures of Mickey Matson” is coming soon to DVD. This is the sequel to “Mickey Matson and the Copperhead Treasure”. I never watched the first movie and I sort of wish I had. I think I would have understood the characters better and their relationship with each other. I would have also understood what the S.O.P. (an elite group of kids that train to save the world) was more about.

It’s been a few years since Mickey Matson (Derek Brandon) and his friend Sully (Francesca Derosa) has had a mission. Mickey is frustrated, his Grandpa Jack (Christopher Lloyd) told him he was meant to do great things but when? Then one day they are whisked off and are face to save the world from Admiral Ironsides (Frank Collison). Admiral Ironsides wants to take everyone back to a day when there is no electronics, he thinks it’s the reason his family is gone and he was injured. Mickey and his friends find a way to work together and save the day.

This was a cute movie. It took a while for us to understand what was going on but we still enjoyed it. I want to get the first movie now because we liked the second one so much. I know my kids would love both movies. The film is geared more to pre-teen aged kids. It’s a bit corny and fun hearted. I found us laughing a lot during some of the adventures. It’s got a bit of a Disney TV show feel, in fact some of the cast have been on Disney.

This has some violence (with ray guns and hitting) but other than that it’s a great family friendly movie. Perfect for a rainy day and watching together.
