My Thoughts-
“Aladdin” Diamond edition on DVD/Blu-ray & Digital HD

I was 14 when Aladdin hit the theaters. I fell instantly in love with Aladdin, I mean come on, he’s such a cutie and his voice is amazing. I also fell in love with the music, I would sing them everywhere I went. Since Aladdin was a huge part of my childhood I couldn’t wait to share this movie with my kids and make it a part of their childhood. My kids were excited to learn that Aladdin was played by Scott Weinger (they know him best as Steve from Full House and are SUPER fans of Full House) and they loved knowing it was Robin Williams playing the Genie (they LOVED him on Jumanji).

I had fun reliving my childhood with my girls. Now they are dancing around humming the music and have asked when we can watch it again. I also loved watching the special features. My two favorite were “Genie outtakes” and “Aladdin: Creating Broadway Magic”. With the Genie outtakes, we get to see more of the genius Robin Williams was. The directors of the movie and of the Genie talk about Robin and how he’d read the script and then ad-lib on to the scenes. I do warn you though, it made me cry watching this feature, Robin is gone too soon from this world. He is missed deeply and seeing his work with Aladdin made the empty space in this world even bigger. The Broadway Magic section was really cool to watch. It was neat to learn the challenges they faced trying to prefect the show and how no one gave up on this dream. Because of the dedication we now have an incredible Broadway show out there.

This re-release of a classic Disney movie is a must have for every family. There are many never before seen special features on this DVD.
