This past weekend our 2 year old son invited two friends over to play with some new toys from Bright Starts. For our party we received a Having a Ball play set, Bunch of Balls set, Lights Lights Baby play center and Roll & Glow Monkey. Each toy came with the batteries needed. I sent them up and we were ready to party.

IMG_9502The Roll & Glow Monkey was a huge hit with each kid. They loved tapping the monkey’s head and watching him roll across the floor. They were even excited to see him glow as he rolled around and made some fun noises. The boys loved running around with him. He needs 3 AAA batteries once the ones he came with wear out. Below is a video of him working.

IMG_9509The Lights Lights Baby play center was perfect for two little boys to play at at once. They loved pushing the kitty cats arm to make the fish tank glow and they loved watching the stars apple and ball light up and play music. The toy has a ladybug that moves along the alphabet as well as a light switch that talks about up & down. There is so much to this toy that the kids had a good long play with it. For storage you can remove the legs to allow it to take up less space. It also has an OFF/LOW/HIGH setting for quieter play or for loud fun play. Requires 3 AAA batteries. Below is a video of the cat in action and other sounds.

IMG_9516Having a Ball is just that. The boys had a ball turning this toy on and watching the balls spin out of the dog’s tummy. The toy comes with 3 balls and we also used the Bunch of Balls set to fill the tummy up with balls and then watch them fly all over the room. They would then crawl and walk around picking the balls up and putting them back in to watch them fly out again. This toy was one I thought would get old for the kids but it didn’t. There was tons of laughter each time the balls flew out. They even had races trying to get more balls then the other.

This party was a huge hit. Each boy walked away with one of the toys to take home and play with. I know they will be well loved toys.

At our party I also made homemade granola bars. The recipe was recommended by the sponsor. These were not only a hit with the kids but also a hit with us parents. So yummy and easy to make. You need 1 banana, 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats, 1 TBSP apple sauce, 2-3 TBSP cranberries. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes.
