Today is national bird day and what better way to celebrate by sharing with you a totally cute and silly book called, “COCKATOO, TOO” by Bethanie Deeney Murguia. The book is geared towards kids ages 3-6 but I say it’s a fun book for everyone. In my household we had plenty of laughs reading this book out loud.
Cockatoo, Too plays on the words “too”, “two”, to”, and “tutu”. And then it plays on the words “can” “toucan” and the “can-can”. Even by just reading those words out loud you can see that this book will be a silly read. It’s a play on words and a tongue twister all in one book. It also helps teach the difference between each word. The English language can be confusing, we have so many words that sound the same but are spelled differently and have different meanings. With this book you can teach about “two, to, too, tutu” and their different spellings and meanings in a silly way.
This book is a perfect addition to your personal library. It would also be a great book to add to every classroom grades kindergarten to grade 2. It’s a fun teaching tool for kids learning to read and write.
I was also given a tote bag and note pad. The bag is very nice and strong, we plan to use it as our library bag. And the note pad counts from 1, 2, too, to, tutu… It’s so silly. The sponsor wants to give one of my US readers a chance to win this book, tote bag and note pad. Check out the giveaway below.
