“Falling Like Snowflakes Series: A Summer Harbor Novel” by Denise Hunter
Eden and her son Micah are on the run for danger. Eden has a cabin one of her friends has offered for her to stay however on the way Eden’s car breaks down. She is stuck in Summer Harbor, Maine. She has no money and no car. Soon she is offered a job by a local family, the Callahan family. Her problem is she can’t give her real name or info for this job. She goes by Kate and her son is Jack now. Beau Callahan feels like he can trust her and even though he doesn’t know her past he has a feeling she is in trouble or worse, danger. The story is around Christmas time, the Callahan boys don’t really like celebrating Christmas since their mom died but Kate helps heal their hearts on this matter.
Throughout this story I found myself hoping that Kate/Eden will trust the Callahan family more and tell her dangerous secret. I hoped the family would help her and show her it is ok to trust again. I also secretly wanted Beau and Kate to fall in love even though Beau has a girlfriend. The writer does an awesome job of creating the tension in their attraction to each other.
This is a romantic holiday story with some intense moments of danger. It does get pretty sappy so if you don’t like that kind of book I wouldn’t recommend it but I can say I really enjoyed this story. I like that it will be part of a series, I want to know more about this whole family.
A great feel good book. It has many lessons on trust. Trusting God to answer prayers. Trusting each other when we are in need.
