My Thoughts-
I was recently invited to test out and review Premier Protein vanilla shakes. ThePremier Protein Vanilla shakes will be available in Costco stores throughout Canada from January 10th through April 3rd. So it’s out NOW for you to go out and buy!

I’ve never been a fan of vanilla protein shakes so my husband and kids will be sharing their thoughts on the taste. From their own reactions I can tell you they LOVE it. My kids ask for a shake after school. My husband likes to drink the shakes after a workout. Protein helps rebuild muscles after a hard workout. They will share their thoughts later. For now I will give you some info, share my thoughts about shopping for it at Costco and tell you my thoughts on the chocolate version of the Premier Protein shakes.

IMG_0596At our Costco the second isle behind the snack isle is where we found the protein shakes. There is a huge display of them and were easy to find. They come in packs of 18 in vanilla or chocolate. While we were there buying a pack of vanilla I decided to buy a pack of chocolate. The chocolate tastes like chocolate milk and makes a refreshing snack. I’m always on the go with three kids so I love to drink it when I haven’t had time to eat. It fills me up and satisfies my hunger until I’m able to get some food.

Each 11 oz serving of Premier Protein shakes has only 160 calories. It’s low fat and has 1 gram sugar. It’s high in protein with 30 grams. Plus it has 24 vitamins and minerals and is made with no artificial colors. If you visit Premier Protein’s website you can find some yummy recipes to add even more to your shake, making it into a meal. They also don’t need to be refrigerated so you can store them in your pantry. We put a few in our fridge and the rest in the pantry for later.

IMG_0667Both my older kids are in dance several hours a week. My oldest loves to have a shake before dancing for 3 hours. She thinks of it as a treat and I think of it as a healthy way to give her energy. Our middle daughter has type 1 diabetes and we love that these shakes only have 3 grams of carbohydrates. We can allow her have this snack without having to worry about giving her insulin.

Chris has started working out more regularly and has found them very helpful for muscle recovery after working out. He liked the taste of both the chocolate and vanilla flavours and described the vanilla flavour as ‘a sweet milk’ taste. It’s easy and quick to drink without any gritty texture as well which is nice too.
