“Annabel Lee” by Mike Nappa
I am writing and trying to not post spoilers. I apologize if I give too much away.
Annabel Lee is the first book in the Coffey & Hill series. The story is centered around a young girl who is places in a underground shelter by her uncle. He tells he to open the door to no one, not even him unless he says the safe code. Through a series of events, Annabel’s uncle cannot come get her. A man that goes by the name of The Mute must contact a man to get a key and secret code. However this man’s ex has done something to prevent the key being found. We also meet Trudi Coffey and Samuel Hill. They are in this to help find this girl, they don’t know it but there is a lot of danger coming their way.
I loved this book. It was a page turner. I could feel what Annabel was feeling all those days in the underground shelter. I wanted to help Coffey, Hill and The Mute. I wanted revenge on the bad guys. The author does an amazing job painting the story and getting the reader involved.
There is a lot of violence, so that is a warning to those who many not like reading those type of books. However I can also say that there is a witnessing message of God’s work in each person’s life.
I can’t wait for the next Coffey and Hill book. I’m in love with this series already.
