My Thoughts-
Ursa’s Light” by Deborah Marcero

Ursa isn’t like any other bear she knows. She never lets her creativity be dampened by others around her. She also has a big imagination. One night she dreamed she could fly. She told everyone that she was going to do it. They all didn’t believe her. She studied different things she knew that could fly and tried over and over again to fly herself.

This book is a lesson on being yourself and not giving up on your dreams. We also see Ursa being an example to her baby brother on not giving up. This is a great book to read to your kids over and over. It helps teach them to dream big and to try to make those dreams come true no matter how hard it may seem.

I also love the illustrations. The first page we see everyone else in black and white and we see Ursa in color and with a rainbow on her short. The book shows the lightness and the darkness of this world.

There is a PDF teaching guide at the bottom of their website to help you share this with your kids.
