I am a Woman of God Apparel- review
ABOUT-
“I am a Woman of God aims to remind christian women their value in God.”
My Thoughts-
I haven’t worn any christian t-shirts in a long time. Finding the company, “I am a Woman of God” has now provided me with the option of having cute, stylish Christian shirts for women. I choose a regular t-shirt but they have girl styles too.
My shirt fit me very well and looked great. The print looks like it will not crack and peel for a long time. I have washed my shirt and it kept it shape and length. The seems all look strong too.
I am a Woman of God not only sells t-shirts for women they also sell bracelets, shirts for men and totes. I love my shirt and I would love for you to check them out.

“The Woodcarver” DVD review & giveaway
About the Movie:
The Woodcarver DVD-(releases Tuesday, March 13th)
“Matthew Stevenson is a troubled kid from a broken home. When he vandalizes the local church to get back at his parents, Matthew has to repair the damage to the church to avoid criminal charges. While working at the church, he meets Ernest (John Ratzenberger), an accomplished wood carver who created the intricate woodwork decoration that Matthew destroyed. Ernest has become something of a hermit, but reluctantly comes out of reclusion to help repair the church. Now Ernest and Matthew must work together to preserve the church’s beautiful antiquity, and along the way, they also manage to restore their faith in God and in life.”
My Thoughts-
The movie “The Woodcarver” starts off with a teenage boy smashing up the town’s church and spray painting the wall. His name is Matthew and he’s mad at God for his parents splitting up. The church is willing to not press charges only if they pay for the broken windows and Matthew helps out with the repair.
The church is also undergoing construction with a new Sunday school wing. The contractor(which involves Matthew’s dad) wants to use prefab products but the pastor is set on using the old Woodcarver to make the beauty of the church match throughout. The contractor tries everything he can to stop the woodcarver from finishing this project.
Matthew is asked to help the woodcarver, which makes his dad angry. On top of all this Matthew’s parent are constantly fighting. So he runs away and asks the woodcarver if he could live with him. After a lot of talking with his parents they agree it can be a temporary thing.
The woodcarver did lay some ground rules down for Matthew. The main one being that before he did anything he needed to take the time and think WWJD (“What Would Jesus Do?”). There is a lot of growing and searching not only by Matthew but with his parents as well.
This was a cute movie and very family friendly. And if you watch the special features you will enjoy learning more about the talent of hand carving wood, which was so cool.
As a family we enjoyed watching this movie. It is a wholesome Christian family movie. I would also recommend this movie to anyone who is wanting to do an outreach in their church or show it to friends for a witnessing tool.

Vineyard Music Miami LIVE CD- review & giveaway
ABOUT-
Vineyard Music Miami LIVE
“What happens when a group of 20+ musicians and 10+ songwriters steeped deep in their own musical traditions of Black Gospel, Latin, Caribbean, and Anglo come together to create a new tradition and sound? What happens when the fusion of Black, Anglo, Latino, Caribbean, and Cuban voices unite together to worship in one voice? Among the 2000 people that attend the Miami Vineyard Community Church, there are over a hundred singers, instrumentalists and songwriters that make up its eclectic worship ministry. For one night, these musicians joined together in worship and invited the church to document the sound that is uniquely MIAMI VINEYARD LIVE.
This distinctive bi-lingual liturgy is filled with many flavors, from Latino claves to gospel two-step to funk and soul to delay-laden rock guitars of modern worship, yet they all work together seamlessly to create a new sound and voice that is authentic and refreshing. From anthems of praise and proclamation to songs of intimacy and adoration, there is a common thread running deep throughout this recording and that is true worship of the Living God as an expression of His Kingdom breaking in on the streets and beaches of Miami, FL.”
Chris’ Thoughts-
Erica asked me to review this CD for her and I really enjoyed it. Growing up in the church, I am very familiar with worship music and often lead or help lead music at our church. This album was very refreshing. It contained new music as well as songs I was familiar with, but with a very different style then I am used to. It really did a great job combining upbeat Latin sounds, gospel, Caribbean style music and slow smooth jazz type sounds. This is a live album, but it is very well produced and it is very high both in terms of instrumental/vocal performance, but also in audio quality (ya, I went to school for this stuff, so sometimes I’m picky). The music is very positive, and encouraging and it’s upbeat songs keep you tapping your foot or grooving along with it.
If you enjoy worship music, but are looking for something that gives a different flavor or style, I would strongly recommend this CD!

“When the Smoke Clears” book review
ABOUT-
“When the Smoke Clears” by Lynette Eason
“After a brush with death due to equipment failure, smokejumper Alexia Allen is ordered to take time off while the incident is under investigation. She makes a last-minute decision to recuperate at her mother’s home and attend her high school reunion. Yet trouble seems to be following her, and within hours of arriving home she is confronted with murder, arson–and a handsome detective.
But the conflicts ahead are nothing compared to the ghosts of her past. As she struggles to accept and forgive her family’s past, she must also decide if the secret she’s been guarding for the last ten years must finally come to light.
Chock-full of the suspense and romantic tension you’ve come to expect from Lynette Eason, When the Smoke Clears is the explosive first book in the Deadly Reunions series.”
My Thoughts-
Grrrr… I just finished the first book in Lynette Eason’s Deadly Reunion series, “When the Smoke Clears”. Why do I say “grrr?” It’s because I loved this book a lot and wanted to know what happens but the author leaves you hanging. Now I can’t wait to read the next book. It really is that amazing of a book!!
The story is centered around Alexia Allen. She is a firefighter that lives in Washington. She almost dies in a fire and finds out there were holes in her air tube. But she is told she cannot come back to fighting fires, that it was her disobedience to the caption that almost got her killed.
Alexia is called by one of her best friends from high school, Serena, to invite her back home for their 10 year class reunion and to also inform her that her mother is very ill and in the hospital.
When Alexia comes home she finds someone in her mother’s house and a man dying. From there a series of very bad things keep happening to her and those around her. The story ends with the real person behind all these bad things still on the loose and ready to kill more.
Throughout all the horror going on Alexia is reunited with a fellow school-mate, Hunter, who is a few years older then her. he is the detective on the case of what’s going on and is also in love with her.
Hunter, Serena, her mother, her brother all trust in God and what he can do in all situations. Alexia isn’t so sure but starts to see His love for her through the people who care for her. She even starts reading a Bible her friend Serena gave her. And she started to learn how to pray to God.
This is a really fast paced, keep you turning the page book. You keep reading and hoping you it won’t end and if it does that everyone will be ok. But it does leave you hanging big time.
If you love suspense you’ll love this book. If you like romance books I think you’ll love it too.

“The Mighty Macs” DVD- review & giveaway
ABOUT-
“In 1971, Cathy Rush, a woman ahead of her time, takes a job as the head women’s basketball coach at Immaculata College. Rush faces a challenge of trying to compete against perennial powerhouses. Seven members of the 1972 Immaculata championship team appear as nuns in a church scene.”
My Thoughts-
I really wanted to see “the Mighty Macs” when it was in the theatres last year, I played basketball in Junior High and High School and I wanted to see this true story about the beginning of women’s basketball as we know it.
I’m very happy I got to review the dvd of this movie. It’s about a all girls College back in the 70′s. Coach Rush comes in and teaches and pushes these girls to believe in themselves and their teammates. Women were taught that their roll was in the house taking care of their husband. So these girls didn’t know they could live their dreams and become whatever they wanted. And in Couch Rush’s first year there they went from being the long shots at winning the nationals, to winning.
I also watched the special features, which I highly recommend you do. The special features go through the lives of the original team back in 1972 and you even get to meet the real Coach Rush. I learned so much about the importance of this story in our world now and fell in love with the movie even more.
I would totally recommend this movie to everyone. Sports fans, men & women, and families will all love it.

“Blue Moon Bay” book review
ABOUT-
“Blue Moon Bay” by Lisa Wingate
“For Seattle architect Heather Hampton, a trip back to tiny Moses Lake, Texas, is hardly in the plan. Yet because a promotion hinges on the sale of the family farmland, Heather heads to the last place she ever wanted to go. She’s determined to return home, signed contract in hand, the next day.
But the currents of Moses Lake take visitors on unexpected journeys. As Heather’s stay lengthens, she discovers a family steeped in secrets and an unexpected connection to local banker Blaine Underhill, despite his opposition to Heather’s project. With each new revelation and question, Heather can’t help but wonder if the handsome banker–and the family she has come to know again–are crooks or crusaders. Somehow she must find out the truth before she loses everything she has worked for and everything she’s found on the shores of Moses Lake.”
MY Thoughts-
This book was a bit hard to get into but after a few chapters I couldn’t put the book down and the last 100 pages I couldn’t read fast enough to find out what happened.
Heather is forced to visit her old home town of Moses Lake to get her family to sign papers to sell their land to an investor, that would make them a lot of money. When she gets there everyone is giving her the run around. She suspects that there are a lot of lies going around and she doesn’t feel at “home” in her own hometown. The one person she does trust is her old housekeeper, Ruth. Ruth shares stories from the past with Heather, stories of faith and trust. She’s trying to help Heather see the really truth in life and to see what’s really important. As you’re reading you just hope it won’t be too late for a change of heart.
As I said before, the book started off slow, but if you keep with it, you won’t be able to put it down.
If you love suspense books, romance books and/or Christian books I think you’ll love this one too.
