The True Story of Puss ‘N Boots DVD review
ABOUT-
“How would you like to know the real story about Puss ‘N Boots?
Well now you and your little ones can learn all about it with the release of The True Story of Puss ‘N Boots. Coming to DVD from Phase 4 Films, this animated movie is true to the original story based on the famous Puss ‘N Boots character by Charles Perrault.
Starring Emmy and Golden Globe winner William Shatner as the voice of Puss, this movie is a great family film about accomplishing your dreams no matter who you are.”
My Thoughts-
I will have to say this was an interesting video. It had a lot of fun parts but a lot of parts I would not want my child to see and the voice to lips was weird too. I think this might have been a French cartoon first and then dubbed over with English.
I did love the spunk of Puss ‘N Boots. He was just as I would have pictured him from the books I read as a child.
The things I wouldn’t want my child to see were parts of the princesses and how she seemed to get away with being very rude to the people who were there to help. In the end she turned out nice but I just didn’t like how mean she was and I don’t want my children to act like her. The queen was very creepy and would have scared/confused my children. And I didn’t like the whole hidden meaning behind the boy being naked and the queen inviting him to the castle. It was all too weird and would have messed up my kids minds.
Seriously, this movie was a waste of 79 minutes of my life and I’m glad to have previewed it before my children watched it.
I HATE giving bad reviews but I had to be honest with this one. Not worth watching.

“The Shunning” DVD review & giveaway
ABOUT-
Beverly Lewis’ The Shunning
“Before she succumbs to cancer, the dying wish of Laura Mayfield-Bennett is to be reunited with the daughter she never knew. Unfortunately, that daughter, Katie Lapp, is a member of the Amish order. Katie is about to be married, but uneasy about the path ahead. Now she discovers the secret her parents have kept from her: she’s adopted.
The film is based on the celebrated first novel of the best-selling “The Heritage of Lancaster County” book series from author Beverly Lewis. Stars Danielle Panabaker & Sherry Stringfield.”
My Thoughts-
This is a hard movie for me to review. I know it’s based after a book written by a wonderful author, but the movie was kind of dry and it left me wanting a bit more to it. But it was a made for TV movie too so that might have been a bit of the problem too.
I do want to say the acting was amazing and I loved that they tried their best to stay authentic to Amish culture. Where we live it’s a lot of Mennonite culture, even at Walmart there is Horse parking. So having the movie stick closely to what I’ve experienced, with the exception that the Mennonite interact with the “English”. They even went as far as to have an accent.
I did enjoy parts of the movie and learning more about what its like to be part of a Shunning, both on the outcast side and the other people’s side. I know I wouldn’t be able to survive not being talked to or not talking to the ones I loved.
If they came out with a sequel to the movie I would watch it. Mainly because I did fall in love with the characters and want to see more of what happens in Katie’s life, what happens when she meets her birth mother, can she go back to her adoptive family?
So maybe if it wasn’t a made for TV movie they could have built up the characters and plot line a bit more and made the movie a bit more exciting. But with what I saw, I really want to see more. maybe I will even go and read these books too.
It’s a cute movie and I’m sure most will love it and want more. Beverly Lewis fans will love it too.

What sets THEO apart from others?
“The Buy 1 – Give 1 campaign!
For every Theo DVD purchased, Whitestone Media and Child Evangelism Fellowship® will send a child in need their very own copy of Theo.”
My Thoughts-
I got to review two Theo videos equaling 15 minutes with my daughter Moo. The animation is great, it gives me that old-school feeling with a new vibe when it comes to Christian children movies. The message is also easy to understand. Even Moo who is 2 was talking about it afterwards.
I also love that their is a curriculum to go along with these videos making teaching my kids even easier. Moo loved the movies so much that she keeps asking for them over and over. I think I’ll need more videos soon. At least the movies are not annoying like some children videos are.
I highly recommend Christian families to check this video series out. Lots of fun and easy to talk to your children with.

My Thoughts-

My kids LOVE Wisharoo Park. Moo says “I Like it mommy” and she’s only two. the first time we watched one of the Dvd’s was on our family trip this summer. I loved that the video lasted many hours so I didn’t have to switch out movies and the kids LOVED the dvd enough to watch it for hours.
Even my husband and I loved listening to the music. Each little video has some kind of lesson for your child learn about confidence, good sportsmanship, and helping others. It was nice to know my kids were watching something that was also teaching them something that they can apply to their life.
After we got home I finally got to see what the videos looked like and it’s so cute. I could see why the girls love it. They even are learning funny jokes that they tell together. One morning at breakfast Moo kept saying “sticky hair, sticky hair” and laughing hysterically. I looked confused and Lee turned to me and said “Why does a bee have sticky hair? Because he uses a honey comb!!” then both girls start laughing hard.
The girls love to play with the finger puppets and dance around with them while watching the DVD as well. Totally cute.
Thank you Wisharoo Park for giving us good laughs, good feelings and good content.

“The Grace Card” DVD- review & giveaway
ABOUT-
The Grace Card
“Everything can change in an instant … and take a lifetime to unravel.
When Mac McDonald loses his son in an accident, the ensuing 17 years of bitterness and pain erodes his love for his family and leaves him angry with God … and just about everyone else.
Mac’s rage stonewalls his career in the police department and makes for a combustible situation when he’s partnered with Sam Wright, a rising star on the force who happens to be a part-time pastor and a loving family man.
Mac’s home life is as frightening as anything he encounters on the streets of Memphis. Money is tight and emotions run high as he constantly argues with his wife and his surviving son Blake, who is hanging with the wrong crowd and in danger of flunking out of school.
Sam Wright also never expected to be a police officer. He has a calling—to be a minister like his Grandpa George. But leading a small, start-up church doesn’t always put enough food on the table for a young family, so Sam doubles as a police officer. With his new promotion to Sergeant, Sam starts questioning if his real calling might actually be police work rather than the pastorate.
Can Mac and Sam somehow join forces to help one another when it’s impossible for either of them to look past their differences—especially the most obvious one?
Every day, we have the opportunity to rebuild relationships and heal deep wounds by extending and receiving God’s grace. Offer THE GRACE CARD … and never underestimate the power of God’s love.”
My Thoughts-
WOW, “The Grace Card” is a tough but really great movie to watch. It’s not only about acceptance and forgiveness but about the ultimate unforgivable thing that you can forgive.
I know I’ve been hurt by many in my life and I know for a fact I’ve hurt others back. There are even times when I don’t feel like forgiving them. But God can forgive all my little & big mistakes in life, then why can’t I. In this movie you see a man face the choice to forgive the man who killed his 5 year old son 17 years ago. For 17 years he(Mac) has harbored hate for this man and towards anyone of color because of the loss of his son. Mac is an angry man & cop, and he takes it out on the family he has left and his new colored partner. But there is a new tragedy in his life and he may loose the only son he has left. His partner is not only a cop but a preacher and he helps lead him to God. Both men learn about grace and forgiveness together.
There is so much more to this movie and I don’t want to give anything away. I really hope you’ll buy it, share it and talk to your church’s librarian to buy. This is something we ALL need to watch and take to heart. After watching the movie I wrote out the Grace card Pledge and have been praying for those that I felt I couldn’t forgive. it’s a freeing feeling when you let go of the bitterness and let God’s love and Grace fall upon you.
