What to Expect the Second Year gift basket (CLOSED)
I am VERY Happy to announce the NEW book in the “What to Expect” series, “What to Expect the Second Year” by Heidi Murkoff. I LIVED off of the “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” and have the “What to Expect the First Year” in my bedside table. Both are my MUST-Have for being pregnant and a parent. I sometimes even give them away as gifts. When I was contacted by the people at “What to Expect” asking if I’d like to work with them to get the word out about “What to Expect the Second Year” I was ecstatic! Below is more info about this NEW book and a video to watch from the author. Workman Publishing is also offering one of my readers the chance to win an amazing gift-basket.
ABOUT-
“Announcing the arrival of a brand-new member of the What to Expect family: “What to Expect the Second Year” (Workman Publishing; $15.95; April 5, 2011) by Heidi Murkoff.

The essential sequel to What to Expect the First Year, with 9.8 million copies in print, “What to Expect the Second Year” picks up the action at baby’s first birthday, and takes parents through what can only be called “the wonder year”—12 jam-packed and jam-smeared months of memorable milestones from first steps to first tantrums.
Walking, talking, picky eating, endless curiosity, bedtime battles, biting, making friends—it’s all covered in a brand-new, easy-to-access, thorough, topic-by-topic format with chapters on growth, feeding, sleeping, learning behaviors of every conceivable kind, discipline, keeping a toddler healthy and safe as he or she takes on the world, and more.
The second year is one of mind-boggling development as a child suddenly becomes his or her own little person on two little feet—with a mouth-full of words (including “No!” and “Why?”) and a body full of energy. It’s not surprising it’s also a year of challenges for both toddlers and the parents who love them. Why is my son suddenly rejecting bath time? Why is this round of teething so much more painful? Is it too early to introduce the computer? How can I get a wriggly toddler to sit still in a restaurant? What are the myths and truths about scheduled immunizations? How does my child stack up on the growth chart?
Heidi answers these questions and more with her signature style, reassuring voice, and practical advice, guiding parents as they learn to decode and fully enjoy the fascinating, maddening, and always adorable person last year’s baby has become.
Incorporating professional guidelines and recommendations, “What to Expect the Second Year” is filled with solutions, strategies, and plenty of parental pep talks. Heidi is both a coach and a cheerleader, reminding baffled moms and dads that there is no one best way to approach the second year.
Whatever you do, don’t blink! The wonder year is here!”

BabyBond- Review (CLOSED)

I was very excited to have the chance to review on the BabyBond. I am very pro breastfeeding and also feel it’s a baby’s rights to feed in public when needed. Babybond will make this easier and more pleasant for everyone. Your baby won’t need to be covered up, mommy can watch baby and your breast is covered up.
I am not currently breastfeeding any babies right now so I asked my good friend Steph to review the Babybond with her 11 week old. She doesn’t usually use any cover-ups for breastfeeding but was more then willing to try this out. Below is her lists of pros & cons.
“Pros-
- Lightweight
- Folds compactly (won’t take up much space in diaper bag)
- Great colour
- Unique design
- Worked well for sash style (nursing from the top)
- Liked that the directions were sewn in in case you forgot
Cons:
- Required some maneuvering to get baby in place where nothing else showed
- If baby pulled off, you were very exposed
- Wearing it belly band style (nursing from bottom) I found the wrap didn’t stay in place as easily
Overall, I’d give it 3.5 out of 5.”
Thank you so much Steph for reviewing this product for me and taking the photos.
You can Find BabyBond at the following site:

Lennah Designs Review
I recently was in contact with Stella from Lennah Designs and she agreed to let me do a review and giveaway. (giveaway will start in a week or so, just need the current one to actually work first
)
I picked the Emma necklace in 32″ with pie pennant. I love the colors; browns, pinks and blues. I got my necklace a few days ago. It’s so pretty, I love the pie pennant on it, it reminds me of the “Time Turner” necklace Hermione wears on Harry Potter, lol. Stella also adds a little touch with a metal heart that says “made with love”, as a tag by the clasp. “The charm is made out of ‘Tibetan Silver’. It’s an alloy of copper, iron, and zinc.” The necklace looks beautiful with some of my favorite shirts.
The necklace is made differently then other “nursing” necklaces. Other ones I’ve seen have a stiffer rope holding it together where as Lennah Designs hang more loosely.

Here’s a little bit about Lennah Designs:
What does Lennah Mean?
“LEN-NAH is how you pronounce necklace in Taiwanese. Both my father and husband were born in Taiwan so I’m all about paying homage to my heritage!”
How did Lennah Designs come about?
“Lennah Designs was created during our breastfeeding journey. With the constant pinching and poking, I abandoned all of my jewelry including a special necklace that was given to me by my mother. This, along with lack of sleep and not packing away my maternity clothes led to many frumpy looking and feeling days. I have always loved painting, photography, sewing, designing, and all things crafty so I decided to make a sturdy necklace my daughter could pull on while doubling as an attempt to look civilized and presentable. What I didn’t realize was how something as simple as wearing a necklace lifted my spirits! Not to mention it was a great distraction for my daughter during feedings.”
Lennah Designs also offers a 1 year replacement warranty if your necklace breaks for any reason.
Two things that got me excited about Lennah Designs is the fact they are made in Canada by a Stay-at-home mom and that a portion of the proceeds made selling these necklaces will be donated to SickKids Foundation. Another great positive is her prices, starting at $20(CND) and free shipping in North America!!
Thank you Stella and Lennah Designs for this opportunity.
Again be on the look out for a giveaway coming soon. <3
