What is Really Woolly Kids “Trusting in the Shepherd”?
Presented by DaySpring- “That’s the promise that Gracie, Jacob, and the whole Woolly family live by every day. Through the ups and downs of life in the pasture, Jacob and Gracie use their creativity, guidance from their parents and grandma, and the wisdom of Biblical truth to live life under the watchful care of the Shepherd. Through their adventures, it’s clear that life can sometimes be Really Woolly-and with the Woolly kids as friends, your family will enjoy “life in the pasture” like only the Shepherd can give. “
Psalm 23:4 NLT “Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.”
This DVD comes with two videos on it, “Gracie’s Ewe Scout Campout” & “Jacob’s New Friend”. Both focus on not being afraid and trusting in God (the Shepherd) to give them strength to not be afraid. I love that the first video would appeal more to girls and the second to boys, giving something for everyone to watch and enjoy. In-between the two videos is a music video helping you and your child memorize the scripture verse. The song is very catchy and I’ve had it in my head for the past week, which is nice because it’s doesn’t hurt to have God’s Word in your head all the time.
The animation is ok, it’s not all computerized but also not all what I would call “old school” looking either. I think some of the video is cheesy but my 4 year old LOVED it, in fact she asked to watch the 40 min video 3 times in a row, she would have watched it more but I thought she had more then enough TV for the day. It was cute though how they used Sheep/Lambs and the twist on who the Shepherd was to them and how He takes care of them.
I asked Lee Lee what she thought of the movie and first thing she said was “I’d loved it a lot mommy.” I asked why and she said “The sheep were cute and I liked the song”. She even asked if we could get more videos like this one.
I would say this video would be good for kids ages 0-7/8ish, any older and they might think it’s too silly. It’s a great movie to watch with your kids and talk about what it meant afterwards.
