My Thoughts-
I was given a Blu-Ray combo pack copy of “Sleeping Beauty” for review. I love getting the good classic Disney movies to share with my kids. It brings back memories of my childhood and I get to create new memories with my children.

If you’ve never seen the movie, it’s about a baby princess, Aurora, who was born and there was a large celebration for her birth. At the celebration three fairies arrive and bestow upon her three gifts. The first gives her the gift of beauty, the second the gift of song and just before the third one could give her wish an evil witch named, Maleficent shows up and is angry that she wasn’t invited to the party. Maleficent, gives a wicked gift. When Aurora turns 16 years old she will prick her finger on a spinning wheel and die. The third fairy steps in and gives her gift. Instead of dying she will go into a deep sleep and wont awake until a young prince kisses, her true love. The king bans all spinning wheels and sends Aurora away to live with the good fairies in hopes he can keep her safe. The day of her 16th birthday arrives and fate follows her.

I have always loved this movie. I love the music, I can even sing it word for word even after many many years of not seeing it. I also love the fairies and how silly they can be with each other. I love the story of finding true love even when you didn’t know it was fate.

I watched with movie with my 8 year old and 5 year old daughters. My oldest had no problems with the movie but my youngest was scared of the witch, her castle and the dragon in the movie. She doesn’t scare easily so this is a warning to those with small kids, it can be a bit scary at times. I didn’t remember it being that way for me, but that was a LONG time ago.

The Blu-ray also has some never before seen bonus features, with some special deleted scenes, as well as older bonus features from the DVD.
